Emblation has been shortlisted for The Institution of Engineering and Technology E&T Innovation Awards for Model-Based Engineering.
The E&T Innovation Awards recognise and celebrate the very best new innovations across the breadth of science, engineering and technology by showcasing cutting edge innovations or initiatives which have the potential to make dramatic improvements to modern society.
Emblation are finalists for the E&T Model-based engineering award. This award recognises projects, at any stage of development, where modelling and simulation have been used in the design, implementation and test of products. Finalists within this category include: BT, BAE Systems Maritime, Nanyang Technological University, and Ocado Robots.
Emblation have been shortlisted for this award for the development of Emblation’s advanced FEA (finite element analysis) computational modelling, which was developed in order to accurately determining safe, and effective treatment protocols, when using Emblation’s microwave devices. The FEA computational couples a number of fields of physics including microwave energy, thermal conduction and convection, fluid dynamics and material science to allow the company to readily identify protocol suitability through accurate calculations of the thermal impact of the microwave treatment. The model is crucial for determining safe and effective energy doses that can be used in a number of fields of medicine.
The winners will be announced during the live virtual ceremony on Thursday 19th November – to register to the event, click here
