Microwave treatments are suitable for a range of conditions ranging from fungal infections through to certain cancers. We are aiming to provide safe and clinically effective treatments in the area of common foot disorders and medical dermatology.

The patented technology we have developed is safe, portable and eminently affordable – it is a fraction of the price of older, bulkier, less flexible and practical devices.

Our current research work includes microwave-based solutions in:

Fungal nails

These are extremely common. Conventional treatments are of low efficacy and involve long time periods, and oral medication can be unsuitable for many patients due to some of the side effects. However, our laboratory tests have proved that microwaves will kill off fungus. We are now gathering clinical data before moving into a randomised control trial through 2021 and 2022.

Molluscum contagiousum

This is an infectious condition involving lesions that spreads easily through skin-to-skin contact. It is commonly found in children.

Condyloma

This manifests itself in anal and genital warts. It is caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) and is currently extremely difficult to eradicate.

Non-melanoma skin cancers

A randomised control trial in AK was published in 2020 by the BJD, with compelling evidence that microwaves can provide a new, effective, and patient-friendly treatment in this area. Case studies in squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) have also been completed, with further RCT work in these areas to begin in 2021. Using microwave treatments for these removes the unwanted side effect of scarring.

Fine lines, wrinkles
and chronic acne

There is scientific evidence that microwave treatment produces heat that stimulates collagen response in tissue.

Common and plantar warts

In less than five years, we have completed more than 150,000 treatments in common and plantar warts. Podiatrists and dermatologists all around the world are using Swift every day to provide effective solutions for their patients. Our treatment delivers microwave energy into the tissue without breaking the surface of the skin, inducing an immune response and providing effective clearance of the condition. We continue to carry out research in this area in new geographies and new specialities.

Across a range of medical areas, the potential is huge.
